Aratupu Preschool & Whānau Hub commissioned artist Chile1 and NBOAF to install a mural inspired by growth, community, local flora and fauna, and their mission. The mural represents a fantail piwakawaka protecting her nest. The background is a forest setting similar to ones that once stood in Christchurch, signified by two large Totara in the background
Paint-by-symbols mural designed by Fiksate and painted with the assistance of the community.
Ōrua Paeroa is the name for the region stretching from the Travis Wetlands to the Eastern coast line and is said to mean 'where the Easterly wind meets the ocean'.
Christchurch-based DTR crew members (Freak, DCypher, Yikes and Ikarus) painted this huge seaside fantasy inspired art work. Featuring a giant Kraken octopus, sailing ships and a realistic pair of legs along with each artist's name at the bottom in the form of a sandcastle.
Countdown New Brighton commissioned NBOAF and Christchurch-based artist, Dove, to install a collage of local flora and fauna images featuring dolphins, kowhai, pīwakawaka, and some familiar New Brighton landmarks opposite the seaside playground.

NBOAF originally formed with the goal of bringing vibrancy and inspiration to vacant and derelict sites in New Brighton, Christchurch.
We started with painting two 40' shipping containers on an empty site and have evolved to producing multiple outdoor art works around New Brighton.
Our goal is to expand into the greater Christchurch and Canterbury regions and, if the opportunity is right, nation wide!
Alongside our design and installation service for murals, we also offer interactive painting experiences.
